Welcome to SCORE H/SS

Join teachers and students across the nation as they observe Geography Awareness Week with a focus on conservation. See how geography relates to the total curriculum through the theme of Conservation and learn how issues of bio-diversity, oceans, population and fresh water are important to us all.

For the first time ever, National Geographic Society has posted its Geography Awareness Week teacher packets online. These materials, linked to wonderful websites from lots of other sources such as the Nature Conservancy and the Environmental Protection Agency, will actively engage students of all grade levels in an in-depth study of geography related to the annual theme. In the spirit of conservation, these lessons can be saved for reuse each year when this year's theme is appropriate in your regular curriculum. These resources print best with Internet Explorer.
