I lived in the Mojave Desert 20,000 - 40,000 years ago. The Mojave Desert was not always a desert. It was cooler and wetter. When I lived here it was a land of lakes and rivers.

My family camped on the shores of this lake to hunt and to make stone tools.

This is Lake Manix. During the Ice Age eagles and owls flew overhead, preying on birds, and rabbits. This large lake was located near where the city of Barstow is now.
