Petroglyphs

Petroglyphs are drawings of people, animals, and things that happened long ago. You can find petrogylphs at Lucerne Valley in the Rodman Mountains. The petroglyphs are called "rock art" engravings. Some people think the Cahuilla or the Chemehuevi Indians may have made them, but archeologists are not sure who did it. The scientists believe these Indians were living in the Mojave Desert 10,00 to 12,000 years ago. They survived by hunting animals and collecting plants.
