Mary Wollstonecraft

Description: Wollstonecraft is a little studied feminist who lived in England in the 18th century and was the mothr of Mary Shelley. During her life, the popular press attacked her "radical" views; after her death, Wollstonecraft served as an example to women of the 19th century. Early in 1792 Wollstonecraft made the connection which few others would make between the rights of men and the situation of women. Standard 7.11.5 and 10.3.7
