Lake Cachuma

Lake Cachuma was created by building a dam across the Santa Ynez River. The lake supplies drinking water to people in Santa Barbara and other close-by areas. The water is stored and then pumped through tunnels to Santa Barbara.

Many birds and animals are found at Lake Cachuma including bald eagles! A water hawk called an osprey and different types of ducks also live there. People like to boat and fish in the lake, or to camp near it. It is a perfect area for live oak trees, water plants, and grassy meadows.

 To Do

• Pencil in the shape of Lake Cachuma. When you like it, color in Lake Cachuma and label it.

• Decorate your map however you want and you are done!
