The Fountain
The word Fontana means fountain in Spanish. The Village of Heritage is home to a beautiful fountain that serves as the anchor to the community centerpiece, the grass median on Grand Avenue. People in the neighborhood use the median to play ball, exercise, hold meetings at, and to sit back and enjoy the view of the majestic mountains to the north.
To visit the fountain in the Village of Heritage travel west on Baseline Road. Turn south on Liberty parkway, just east of the 15 Freeway. The fountain is across the street from Heritage Intermediate School.
In the history of Fontana was the city called any other name? If the answer is yes, what was the name, and why and when was it changed? If the answer is no why was the name Fontana chosen?
