Task

    In order to prepare your delegation for the United Nations convention, you have been instructed to study the important democratic documents of the past, particularly the documents that were created as a result of the Glorious, American and French Revolutions. The documents each team needs to review are:

  • The Bill of Rights (English)
  • The Declaration of Independence (American)
  • The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen (French)
  • The Bill of Rights (American)

  • Before studying each document, you should review the revolution that inspired it. Your goal is to understand the events and conditions that led to the creation of the documents. Once you have completed the review worksheets and understand the historical backgrounds of the documents themselves, you may begin drafting your proposals for the Student Bill of Rights. Once you have completed your proposals, you will need to prepare to present them to the other delegations at the convention.
